Master of Accountancy

The master's degree is the new standard in business and accounting. Most recently promoted partners in public accounting firms and most senior corporate executives hold advanced degrees. In addition, a majority of states have adopted the 150-hour requirement for individuals to sit for the CPA examination, which generally requires accounting professionals to complete a fifth year of higher education. The degree requirements of the Master of Accountancy (MAcc) Program at the Weatherhead School of Management satisfy the educational qualifications for an individual to sit for the CPA examination in the state of Ohio.

The Weatherhead MAcc Program provides qualified candidates with a foundation of technical knowledge and develops the abilities and skills required for the long-term professional success. Graduates of the Weatherhead MAcc Program enjoy significant career advantages including superb employment opportunities and greater credibility and stature in an increasingly competitive business environment.

The Weatherhead MAcc Program features a flexible 36-credit hour curriculum. The MAcc program may be undertaken on a full-time or part-time basis, beginning in any semester. Enrollment in the summer (June) or fall (August) is recommended to facilitate appropriate sequencing of courses.
