Student Life

A Weatherhead Experience goes far beyond the classroom. Our campus sits in the middle of a rich arts & cultural district within a diverse city. Organizations, events, and awards provide a cultural connection that taps into our diversity and vastly enhances the foundational and experiential learning that takes place here.

Organizations

Weatherhead is home to several student organizations each of which play prominent roles on campus.

Events

Weatherhead traditions not to be missed include:

Weatherheadless Ball

Celebrate Halloween with the Law School, Medical School, and Weatherhead at the Peter B. Lewis building. The Ball attracts more than 700 students, faculty, and staff from all over campus. With proceeds going to charity each year, the event brought in nearly a ton of food and cash donations for the Cleveland Food Bank.

Annual Report

This light-hearted, student run end-of-the year celebration is open to all Weatherhead faculty, staff, students, and family and includes a variety of awards and skits.

Case Bowl

The Case Bowl is a Net Impact Club charity event that features teams of faculty members debating a controversial case. Audience members vote on the winning team with their donations. This past year, the event had a boxing theme with our faculty “duking it out” and raising over $430 for Tremont Urban Food System.

Casino Night

Casino Night is a student-run evening of chance and annual benefit for a chosen charity. Guests try their hand at a number of casino games and the more winnings they accrue, the more raffle tickets they earn for a chance to win prizes. The event is open to the community and is an exciting experience for everyone.

Awards

Throughout the academic year, and at graduation, student excellence in scholarship, leadership, and community service is recognized at various events and with monetary or opportunity awards. Faculty, staff, and fellow students all participate in the selection of these role models. Some of our Awards include:

Allen C. Holmes Community Service Award
Recognized at the Bowers Economic Forecast Luncheon

Scott S. Cowen Student Leadership Award and Theodore M. Alfred Distinguished Service Award
Recognized at the Weatherhead diploma ceremony

Teamwork Award, Weatherhead Student Life Award, and Rita Kicher Award
